Be a Friend of Rotary

We need you.

Rotary Club of Woodend is looking to expand how we do things and is inviting anyone from our local community to join an existing project, start a new one or become involved in a flexible capacity. This is a new concept for our club and we’re excited at the possibilities. Ideas welcome!

Who can apply to join?

Anyone who would like to belong to a local group, and be actively involved on an ad hoc basis in a variety of community projects.

What are the benefits?

A sense of belonging, particularly if you’re new to the area and are looking to create new friendships. It’s the ideal opportunity to utilise your skills and abilities – or to learn new ones. And the great thing is, you don’t need to commit to a regular or permanent role – feel free to volunteer your time as and when suits your lifestyle.

How To Apply?

A growing group!

Please email Pen Longton with your name and contact number and briefly outline what you think you'd be interested in doing. We recognise that until you know what the options are, this can be hard to determine! Pen will phone you and have a proper chat.

You will be invited to attend a Rotary Club evening meeting, held on a Thursday night at 7pm-9pm at the Victoria Hotel, Woodend, with a guest speaker. This is so you can have an opportunity to meet Club members.

An outline of your interests and availability will be recorded, and you will be able to decide what you'd like to be involved with - this can be anything from the quarterly sausage sizzle fundraiser at Bunnings or Coles, to folding or proof-reading of the New Woodend Star, to starting your own local project such as fundraising for a special cause.

Enjoy! The aim of Friends of Rotary is to grow new ways of meeting with a purpose, so this group will continue to evolve and you can be part of making the changes.
